You need to be loged in. Then simply open the photo you want to edit and click the "edit this photo " button that appears underneath.

at the bottom I'm given two buttons, one to see other photos by the photographer, the other to see other specimens in the cerussite gallery.
From the header at the top of every page I have an "Add/ERdit Data" but it only allows for adding photos, as best I can see.

I think you have to go to your "gallery" before the "edit photo" button shows up - that it doesn't show up when you just call up the photo itself, or access it from a locality page.
Try that. Click on the "View This User's Gallery" button (or whatever it's called...) and see if the "Edit Photo" button shows up then.

Obviously something strange happening here, as providing I am logged on, I can open up a photo from anywhere within mindat and then edit it via the edit button.
I don't recall there being any restriction on editing photos when Jolyon announced it was possible some while ago, so not sure what to suggest now.

At the time of your postings, most of your photographs were still in the condition of 'not being reviewed'. I did review all the new photographs yesterday afternoon, so they are definitely added to the database now.
I think, that's been the reason why you couldn't edit any of them. Though, it should work now.
Best regards
Peter

The images I was trying to correct were amoung the first few posted and which had already been reviewed.

The mindat program seems to dislike the use of quotation mark symbols on photo data entries, converting " to / in several captions (and in one case truncating the text string altogether!).
The fluorescent photos are all shot "straight" using a Nikon Coolpix 995 (now discontinued). I found that underexposing shots by a stop or more helped exposures greatly. However, I'm now putting together a macro system based on the Canon 10D which I hope to have running early next year. Will post details in the appropriate forum when its finished.
