Hi,

I recently purchased some Schalenblende which was labelled as "from the Pb-Zn mine Piekary". I can't find anything about Zinc and Piekary. But "Piekary" used to be an own town until it was bond together with the town Scharley in the year 1934. Now it's called Piekary Slaskie.

Acoording to the name Scharley I believe the origin of the pieces is Bleyscharley mine. I don't have photos yet but they look alike with the ones from Bleyscharley.

Can someone confirm this assumption?

Regards

Philip

Hi! This is definitely the "Biały Szarlej" mine in Bytom. Bytom is well known of Pb-Zn mining.

Cheers!

Luke
