Identity HelpYellow cuprite ?

I have just checked by eds a yellow earthy/waxy encrustation intergrown with cuprite xx (see pic - fov 6 mm).
Locality is the old manganese mine of Monte Nero, Liguria, Italy.

I am sure I correctly sampled the pure yellow stuff but the eds response (for atomic numbers >10) was only Cu.
Shall I consider that stuff still cuprite ?
Do you know cuprites having that macroscopic appearance ?
