I just saw some press releases for the HP Sprout, with an optional scan table which allows 360 degree scans with .5 mm depth accuracy. It supposedly also captures photos and combines them into a 360 degree view. The online videos available only shows scan/photos of simple objects.

There is conflicting data on release dates. Some say it was to be released in July, others say September.

Has anybody seen this product or the resultant scans and photos? Can they be viewed and shared to computers without special software?
