Techniques for Collectorsfluortie in calcite

I found some calcite today with two bands of fluorite crystals going through it. The crystals that protrude out of the calcite are 1/4 to 1/2 inch across. I would like to get some of them out of there in one piece but I am not sure how to do it. I know calcite wiill dissolve in acid but I am afraid that the fluorite will too. I looked on many sites about the mineral and none of them said anything about the acid thing. Anyone have any suggestions?

The fluorite will not disolve in dilute hydrochloric acit but may loose some of its luster.
