It would appear to be a real moldavite.

Hello,

Yes, it looks genuine. Just remember, impact glass from many locations is sometimes sold as Moldavite. True Moldavite only comes from the impact that occurred in Bavaria Germany, and was ejected into the atmosphere and landed in areas including the Moldau River valley in the Czech Republic.

To absent friends...in memory...still bright.

Jan,

I stand corrected(see edit).

Thanks

But as i sayed iam a novice and cant really feel it all the time, do you need like kind of adapatation to it? should everyone feel it the first time they touch it even tho they dont know nothing about crystals and vibes?

cheers

Steven you've not right at all, moldavite was firstly found by the river Moldau (named after river Moldau), but most localities does not lie along the river Moldau. Moldavite is possibly also found in Moravia, then in Austria - Waldviertel and Germany - Lausitz. Also small occurence is near city Cheb.

Best regards

Linka, if you are asking about metaphysical properties you're asking the wrong group. We deal with physical properties.

Moldavite is an impact glass, not significantly different in structure from any ordinary piece of glass. The only thing you'll feel is if you convince yourself you're feeling something. Moldavite is one of the items of the mineral world that unscrupulous dealers promote as having special mystical and/or energetic properties. There is simply no truth to these claims.

The fascinating history of formation of moldavites, and the incredible forces involved in their creation do induce a feeling of wonder in me. It's beautiful, genuine, and you like it, so owning it makes you feel good. I guess that's a metaphysical property. Any other kind of feeling induced by a moldavite can only be ascribed to the unlimited human capacity for self-delusion.

Jeffrey,

I don't know about that. I have sold many of them and I notice that I get a warm feeling in my pocket book when I do.

There is a great mine in Ogdensburg that we will have exclusive access to. I will let Steve Know the results. There should be some great UV potential.
