Improving Mindat.orgorder of child photos

11th Aug 2014 12:24 UTCNorman King 🌟 Expert

I added a child photo (629792) to photo 629791, referring to it as the first child photo in the description for 629791. Now I see that it has become the second child photo, even though it is the next number after 629791. The second child is 629794, and so on with ever larger numbers. How can I get 629792 back in the first child photo position?

I've moved them around by deleting and re-adding. If I remember correctly deleting one moves the next one up and adding one adds it to the end of the list.

Reiner,

I appreciate the effort, but they're still backwards.

Would an edit--such as replacing a photo--do this?

There is no way currently to control the order of child photos. We do not recommend re-uploading them as even in the future the order may change.

It is best to refer to child images by photo ID number in the description.
