A weathered small pocket in a pegmatite vein with smoky quartz and microcline crystals. Field of view: 5 cm
A boulder showing a section of an almandine garnet (~2 cm) hosted in an aplite (from the D62 road quarry).
This old piece (with its original label) is composed of 3 almandine garnets in an aplite. One of them is well clear of its matrix. The 5 eurocents coin (~21 mm) is for the scale.
Small schorl crystals in a pegmatite vein exposed on the slope of the D62 road. (my hand is for the scale)
Probable sharp albite crystals with muscovite. FOV: ~ 2 mm Sorry for this ugly picture!
Tabular fluorapatite crystal (~ 2 mm) on muscovite and quartz
Smoky quartz crystals on albite ("alpine type" paragenesis). Specimen size: 4 x 3,5 cm
Purple fluorite octahedrons (the main crystal is ~ 2 mm)
Smoky quartz crystal. Specimen size: 2 cm tall
Tabular fluorapatite crystal (~ 2 mm) on muscovite. (ugly picture taken through my binocular!)
This quarry, along the D62 road, was dug in a leucogranite dyke. Big garnets (up to 2 cm) are hosted in aplite veins intrusive in the leucogranite.
