Montbelleux Mine, Luitré, Fougères-Vitré, Ille-et-Vilaine, Brittany, France

Locality type:Mine
Classification
Species:Uraninite
Formula:UO2
Comments:Th-bearing uraninite (5%).
Disseminated in muscovitic albitic post-Cadomian ± greisenized highly-differenciated granite stock (-60, -95 and -130 levels).
Uraninite is linked with albitization.
Three types of occurrence are known :
- Automorph, rounded or xenomorph in pyrite
- With arsenopyrite, sphalerite and bismuth/bismuthinite
- Cemented by organic matter at the contact of pyrite (late)/phyllite (early)/molybdenite
- Rims brecciated zircons

(L. Chauris, C. Laforêt and J. Cotten, Bull. Minéral. , 1985, 108, pp. 955-958).
