Comments:Found admixed with sassolite and other salts as a fumarolic incrustation on Vesuvius- It occurs as minute tabular to platy and sometimes elongated crystals resembling barite and as dense crusts. It is colorless to white, or yellowish to reddish when impure. The taste is bitter.
