An asbestos occurrence/prospect located in sec. 30, T2N, R19E, within 1 mile N of Black Mesa and about 2¾ miles SSE of Bear Canyon Junction, and 14 miles N of the San Carlos Indian Agency, on Indian Reservation land. The history and original claim names are not known.

Mineralization is a vein deposit with a linear ore body hosted in the Mescal Limestone. An associated rock unit is diabase.

Area structures include diabase which, on the south side of the creek, concordantly contacts the base of the algal member for about 150 feet up the hillside slope and then gradually cuts disconcordantly downward through the beds of the lower Mescal Member.

Assay data: 1 - 2 inch, harsh, semi-soft asbestos fiber.

Workings include several open cuts. The condition of the cuts indicates that the work was done many years ago. No production record.
