I am trying to find out if anyone has collected at this locality recently. Are there up-to-date GPS coordinates available? I have doubts about what is in Mindat regarding the placement of the locality. I recently obtained a specimen with faujasite and phillipsite at the 2015 CMMA workshop in Burlington, Ontario. It was labeled as from Cima, California. The Handbook of Mineralogy gives the locality as "on the Cima Dome, near Valley Wells, San Bernadino County, California". I cannot find any reference to Table Mountain in San Bernardino County. Perhaps the Mindat reference needs to be revised. Here is an image of the faujasite, 2mm FOV.

Thanks!

I received a PM from Tom Tucker. He says that "the Table Mountain locality in Mindat is very near the Valley Wells rest stop on the near-by highway". Here is a Google Earth image of the area.

The north end of the red line is where Mindat places the faujasite locality. The south end of the red line is at the green icon that Google Earth says is Cima Dome. The yellow pushpin icon is where I think the faujasite locality is. It lies north of I-15, close to the Valley Wells rest stop and the Cima exit off the freeway. Still looking for someone who may have collected there recently to confirm its location.

Thanks,

Steve
