As I poked around a bit, though, I am wondering about the specific location. My specimen was labeled "Daniello Mine."
On John Betts' archive, he has two similar quartz ps. anhydrites, one with an old Alfred Stevenson label for "Danialo Mine" and another tagged "Mina Danielo". It seems like this mine has been used in multiple places but isn't in MinDat -- anyone have more info that would confirm its existence?
Cheers,
D.

These casts occur over an area that includes Frederico Westphalen, Irai, and Planalto, as well as Ametista do Sul. This is an area of flood basalt. The area you had it in was well outside of the basalt area.
