Maybe someone could give me more hints. White one might be Cerussite, and Black one Goethite after something, but, I just want to make sure and narrow my options. Don't have locality information. These are needle like (splinterey) formations Thanks a lot...LK

We need more information like specific gravity, hardness and streak.

I can see your reasoning Lenny, but additional information as Reiner suggested (as well as better photos) would really help here.

I hope these pictures are better and can make it easier to identify. They told me all three are from Mexico.

30th Sep 2014 09:58 UTCRock Currier Expert

This appear to be specimen of calcite. Whether it is from Mexico I don't know. It is a very low grade specimen, one that most collectors would call study grade or used to decorate their garden. How did you acquire this particular set of specimens?

30th Sep 2014 15:42 UTCVolkmar Stingl

Could it be gypsum? Test the hardness of the first piece.

I agree with Rock, the last piece is calcite.

Rock it is from San Luis Potosi, Mexico. The white one is from Oaxaca, Mexico and the black one is from Guanajuato, Mexico. This is the only information I got so far...what else can I give you for more accurate identification? thanks a lot

The localities you have are probably better than anyone here can give you. Is it you don't know what the minerals and want to know or where they are from exactly or both these.

2nd Oct 2014 04:34 UTCJuan Ángel Tort Figueroa

First sample, from san luis potosi, I'm Thinking Charcas... Zeolite group, NATROLITE.
