Identity HelpGoosecreekite from Shirdi, India?

Hello all,

I bought this specimen from Georges Claeys at the Interminéral show in Liège, Belgium yesterday.

The label says it is Goosecreekite from "Shirdi, near Jalgaon, Maharashtra State, India".

However, the locality (http://www.mindat.org/loc-56572.html) only mentions Epistilbite.

There is a picture of Scolecite on the locality page, and a Google search mentions several other species being found there.

Is there (or was there ever) any Goosecreekite at this locality as well?

Thanks,

Vik

For me it is not epistilbite. It is possibile it a goosecreekite , but necessary analysis. For locality probably it is not from Shirdi. I have many goosecreekite from Nasik, from Jalgaon district, etc. without more informations. If you write Jalgaon District you not in error.

Ciao

Ferdinando

Go back to the supplier. He may have better information than a guess from us here on mindat. Usually the supplier will just say, well that was the locality I was given. But it is possible that the supplier bought the specimen at the locality and in that case there is a high degree of probability that it is a correct locality. If that is the case let us know and we will add it to the list of species from that locality.

Hello all,

according to the seller (Georges Claes), the specimen is from Nashik District. I've changed the locality of my specimen to that.
