Hi All, need help (particularly the german speaking mineral community): Got a nice old calcite on basalt with this old label. It says: Kalkspath auf Basalt von ?.

I need the ? - it could read Auszig (Aussig - Usti nad labem) but i am totally stuck. Any ideas? And maybe someone recognizes the writing and knows which collector that could be. 19th century specimen at least. TY!

Roger

Hello Roger,

I agree- Aussig. (no "z").

(based upon some knowledge how to read old handwriting- genealogical work)

Best regards

Aksel

"Kalkspath auf Basalt von Ausig" means "calcite on basalt, Ústí nad Labem, Bohemia, Czech Republic"
