Field CollectingAmmonium Bifluoride Sources?

7th Sep 2010 08:00 UTCMorion Quartz

Hello,

I have many, many, many pounds of fine quartz specimens coated with secondary quartz. I use Ammonium Bifluoride to remove this coating as an alternative to HF. However i am in need of much, much, much more ammonium bifluoride; but my source exhuasted out.

Does anyone have a distributor they would recommend in Southwest US?

Or... do any of you live in the SW and have ammonium bifluoride they would like to sell/trade off?

Much Appreciated!

Morion

Dear Dane:

This sounds like you. I have a dealer friend in Tucson who can get HF, if you are willing to use it. If you will be up this way this weekend we are having a small mineral show at the corner of 6th st. & 6th ave (he will be there). EMail me or call at 520-495-4383.
