GeneralArkansas Coleman mine quartz find...

24th Sep 2018 03:50 UTCScott DeLano

Reddit has a pic posted of a huge plate of large quartz crystals on it. Saying its 3-4 million dollar value. Is that value accurate? And is that find recent or is that old news? Sorry i dont know how to post a link to it but if you are subscribed to the geology or rockhounding categories it should be easy to find.

You are talking about this one?

Other images on google search are mostly on pinterest (seriously, why do so many sacrifice their own website ranking or even placing on google image search just for having pictures there?).

It's is maybe with luck and lots of patient marketing about 500.000 $. But several millions are quite unrealistic even for american standards. But if this value is told often enough in the news, someone will buy it even for that amount.

Yes that was it. I thought that dollar amount was outrageous. Is it a tecent find?

I have seen pictures of this on Facebook, yes it is a recent find. As for value one can not make a good guess on it's value until it is cleaned and trimmed. Then it will be worth what ever someone is willing to pay for it.
