Hello everybody,

is there somewhere on the web a chronological listing of all the pockets found in the Sweet Home Mine ?

Many thanks :-)

Jean

JEAN, Read the Min Rec issue Volume 29 Number 4 July - August 1998. It is devoted exclusively to the Sweet Home Mine and pretty much chronicles a season by season collecting summary which includes, in chronicle order, all the pockets. CHEERS……BOB

Hi Bob,

thanks, I've just.....bought this out of print issue and it is really great ! :-)

I had the chance to get one for 30 euros, mint condition...

Unfortunately, it was published in 98 and so doesn't chronicle the last seasons (Till 2004 if I'm right ?)

Cheers

JEAN, I would have to review the issue, but I believe it discusses the last productive years of the mine and the decision to shut it down by the owners (BRYAN LEES and his partners). If that is the case, the mine closed in the late 1990s, well before your date of 2004. Currently, I believe, concrete seals the portal. CHEERS…..BOB

ADDENDUM: JEAN, I just reviewed this last days of the mine and on page 96 -97 of the MIN REC issue, the disappointing 1997 season is discussed. The mine was shut down at the end of that season. Hope this helps.

I would think if you contacted the Collectors Edge, they could supply you with a list.

the mine closed October 2004, we named the pockets by year and chronologic number (2nd pocket of 1996= 96-02 pocket)

some got fancy names later, some did not- I was the mine geologist.
