Sad news I learned that Chris Korpi passed away over the weekend. Chris was part of our community. He lived hard and fast, sometimes too fast but he was a friend to us all. He will be missed. You can learn more at his FB page.

Sorry to hear of Chris' passing. I first met Chris 31 years ago and it doesn't seem like it has been that long. Chris always had a zest for minerals and life. Peace be with you Chris and condolences to his family and friends.

Bummer! Sorry to hear of Chris' death. I think Chris had some Rapid City roots as well with SD School of Mines degree. Got some nice specimens from him from Dr. Roberts in the mid 80's and a number of culls from his personal over the years. Chris was always a lot of fun to talk to and share opinions with. Had some great colorful conversations and some good meals together in Tucson when he was able to get away from his work and other interests. RIP Chris!

We were so pleased when Chris moved to Laguna Beach last year - we got to see him more often and talk minerals. Very sad and at such a young age. I'll miss our talks but will attend his memorial here in Laguna on December 7th.
