GeneralThanks for the civiity!

27th Apr 2016 16:51 UTCEd Clopton 🌟 Expert

I participate in just two online forums, the Mindat Messageboard and another hobby forum on a totally different subject elsewhere. Both are frequented by a wide range of people, including many technically knowledgeable and well informed individuals eager to share knowledge and differing points of view. I find both forums worthwhile (otherwise I wouldn't participate!), but the Mindat forum stands apart for its civil, constructive tone and relatively disciplined ability to stay on topic and on task. Not that there aren't exceptions--we're only human, after all--but after seeing thread after thread on the other forum wander way off topic and/or degenerate into snarky, personal, negative, political/idealogical squabbles, it's refreshing to get back to Mindat where we usually stick to business and manage to stay friends, at least within the confines of these little text boxes.

Thanks, everybody!

Thanks Ed! I have certainly hijacked my share of the threads and I've made an effort to stop. We have worked hard to maintain civility here and I'm glad that shows.
