Dear mineral friends,

I try to clean my hobby room. So I took some pics (attached) about it to show you that I have yet a lot of pieces to swap.

Under others I have many pieces from:

  • the Lengenbach quarry in the Binn valley, Switzerland; some are defined, most not.

  • Grube Clara in Germany, most undefinded.

  • the quarry in Arvigo, Switzerland. Nice Epidote, Prehnite…

  • Saas Fee, Switzerland.

  • the region Furka pass: Adular, Albite, Anatas, Hämatite, Quarz, Titanite…

Now I am on the beginning of looking through all the boxes… and in a little box from a friend I found yesterday some little Synchiste-Ce and also some Anatas on Matrix. It is interesting but it will take a lot of time.

So please write me when you are interested in a swap.

Until later

Reto Schachtler from Switzerland

Your “hobby room” is impressive!  I think we all have these spaces in our homes!  Attached is a pic of my “overflow room.”  A lot of my specimens are on display, but not all.  My overflow room holds the specimens I need to log, examine, and/or pedigree.  And then there is the corner in the garage (another story).  Of course, a never-ending battle.  I would love to see other collector’s “hobby rooms”, as I am sure they have the same space challenge!!

We should all be so lucky to have hobby rooms to clean!

and the bulk of the micro collection is in another room in a much larger cabinet.  I also have about 8 feet of floor to ceiling shelfs with untrimmed material, back issues of Min Rec, Mineral News, Rocks and Minerals, etc
