I was going to post this on localities but couldnt figure how to add to that link. It is about the Balmat Zinc mines in NY. I have collected and photoed the different dumps and pits in that area and wanted to understand where exactly are the ZCA No 4 mine, St Joe no 3 mine, st Joe No 2 mine and this abandoned open pit right behind pumphouse road. Is there a map of the ZCA mine properties? any ways I wanted to add some photos of shafts and pits but I did not know which they are. Here are three photos of the pit I was in behind one of the mine shafts. The pit was just NW of office road and SE of pumphouse road. Wondering if any one knew the reason or history of this pit. Wish I knew where to put the Added photos..enjoy
