Improving Mindat.orgNatrolite does not occur at Bear Cr Quarry

3rd Aug 2014 23:39 UTCRudy Tschernich

The white fibrous lining of natrolite Photo ID 3847 is not from the Bear Creek Quarry, Drain, Oregon. I have tested many samples of the needles from that quarry and found them all to be mesolite. The mesolite from that quarry occurs as long thin needles radiating from coarse bladed thomsonite. The short compact lining of white needles seen in this photo is typical of the natrolite found in the Old Springfield Butte Quarry, Springfield, Oregon. Please move the photo to the Old Springfield Butte Quarry.
