Improving Mindat.orgSaint anne du lac, Adstock QC

3rd Jun 2015 18:55 UTCFred A. Schuster

Yesterday I added information for a sub locality "Chemin Du Lac" road cut. I did not see the info, so I am assuming it was not yet reviewed. The map puts the coordinated on the wrong road also. W 46 5 30 and N 76 13 13 would be closer, by google earth.

Hi, Fred and Ralph,

The location on Mindat's Map is off by some 5 degrees (300 km) to the West...

The reason for this is that the coordinates are erroneous : it should read :

N 46 5 30 and W 71 13 13.

:-)

Coordinate changed to 71.

The coordinates still seem to be out as 71 still does not place it on the road. The only road cut near there ( from google street view) does not look like the picture posted but then maybe it has been changed since then? The coordinates of this outcrop are at 46°05'34.2"N 71°13'12.1"W. Is this the outcrop? If so I will change the mindat entry to that.

Reiner,

I checked as you did, using Google Street View, and found the exact location !

The screenshot hereto attached is unmistakable : it is Fred's working place...

The roadcut is further North, on the East side of the road, and the exact coordinates taken on Google Earth are :

46° 5'43.03" N

71°13'16.36" W

Thank you Jean-Yves I have corrected the coordinates.

Thanks Jean-Yves!
