8.3 x 5.4 x 4.2 cm. Hackmanite a variety of sodalite and is very rare world-wide. This excellent combination specimen is dominated by the large for the variety, sharp, glassy and translucent, shades of lavender, hackmanite crystal set on more hackmanite and a bit of matrix. A yellow-orange inclusion is noted at the bottom of the crystal and is rare phlogopite. The hackmanite has ghostly white fluorescence and also has sulfur-yellow phosphorescence. The phlogopite has incredible neon-orange fluorescence and turns into a black hole after the UV is turned off. Ex. Herb Obodda specimen.
