Turquoise ps. Apatite
As recorded:
Cumobabi Mine, Cumpas Municipality, Sonora, Mexico
31mm x 21mm x 9mm
Turquoise has replaced hexagonal prismatic crystals of apatite. The turquoise replacement is believed to have occurred as a part of either late copper mineralization in or supergene leaching of breccia pipes. The form is exceptionally sharp; the lower left crystal is incomplete.
