“FOV 2.25 x 3.0 mm. Found ca 1996.
The only thing special about this xl is that it is indeed eudialyte. It was identified at the Canadian Museum of Nature as part of a lot that included UK116 (now manganoeudialyte), khomyokovite, manganokhomyakovite, ferrokentbrooksite. Unlike the last three, which came from a breccia, this specimen is from a miarolitic cavity. However environment is not a safe guide in distinguishing among eudialyte group members at MSH.
Part of the xl (above the break) is covered by a "pebbly" amorphous coating. The crystal is difficult to photograph because it isn't very big, but is attached to a rather large chunk of the miarolitic cavity. Spliiting the specimen to get it down to MM (or even TN) size is not an option - it already has a crack. Too bad, because it is really quite attactive.
