Size ~ 6 x 3.5 cm. Found on the Trotter dump mid-late 1970s. MOB coll. The pyroxene is very dark green and has one distinct cleavage (or parting) and another, nearly at right angles, that is generally much less distinct. The crystals were etched from calcite. Recent (2018) EDS analysis show that this is likely hedenbergite with a petedunnite component.

The Zn (and Mn) probably indicates solid solution with petedunnite. According to to Dunn, this is common.

This is a stereo child photo. In this photo the crystals look blueish, mostly because of diffrences in lighting. The blue color is coming from a thin surface "contact coating" that was revealed by the etching.

This is an "upside-down" photo that emphasizes the resorption exhibited by some crystals.
