Hemispheres of straw-yellow carpholite "needles" (compact, radiating groups of acicular crystals) on a smoky quartz crystal; found near Glens Peak, Elmore County, Idaho. The mass of carpholite at upper right measures 1.5 cm across; the smoky quartz crystal measures 8.0 x 4.7 x 3.7 cm. overall. Self-collected.
