How to ContributePosting "My Photos" to Locality Page

18th Dec 2013 04:16 UTCA. A. Faller

I found a locality page that did not have a photo I uploaded to my home page. There are, however other photos that DO show up on other locality pages...Do I have any way of "adding' a mineral photo to it's correct locality page?

What is the photo ID or link to it please, it may be the locality cache needs clearing.

Thanks, Debbie...

That photo is shown in the gallery for that locality. You can add a photo from the locality page although its down to photo editors to assign it site-wide or user gallery only.

Some days ago I tried for the first time to publish photos in mindat. I tried with the locality Vico Canavese Quarry, Vico C.se (TO), Canavese district, Piedmont, Italy. For that locality were not included in the list of minerals quartz, titanite and albite. I added them as I found them in that quarry (the titanite specimen was also confirmed by raman spectrography) and I also inserted the article of a publication in which it was confirmed that those minerals were present in that Quarry. So: the only published update to the Quarry was references and external link, while the four photos (1 of titanite, 1 of smoky quartz and 2 of the Quarry) were not inserted (I can only see them in my page) and the names of the three new minerals were not added to Vico Canavese Quarry. Is there a way to know if the photos has not been accepted or why the new minerals were not added? How much time passes after the insertion and the pubblication? When I edit my photos a number is assigned: for example n.582828. If I go and see the section new photos of the day I can see that photos with number after and before mine so that I guess that there are persons that publish directly, while my photos remain unpublished. Thanks for your answers and excuse (maybe) for the obviousness of my questions.

Approval of photos and other additions takes days to several weeks, depending on holiday season, workload etc.

Ok, understood. I've only to wait. I thought it depended on my mistakes. Thank you!

Well, my photos have been published. Great. But still remains a problem: in Vico Quarries, Vico Canavese, Chiusella Valley, Canavese District, Torino Province, Piedmont, Italy the mineral list doesn't accept the addition of quartz, albite and titanite. So if you search under photos/mineral photos (7) you can see the quartz and titanite otherwise not visible (as the number of pictures from mineral list is only 4 and doesn't consider quartz and titanite). Is there someone who knows why the addition in the mineral list went wrong?

5th Jan 2014 09:44 UTCFranco Luca Bonino

Ok:someone inserted the three minerals in the list and connected the titanite picture. Remains the quartz picture to be connected.

Fixed.

The discrepancy was the photo is listed as smoky quartz but the entry on the locality page was listed as quartz.
