The caption says: "two crystals, the usual hexoctahedral with a flattened crystal associated" but this crystal is a cuboctahedron.

I see no cube faces in this crystal.

The face under-left is a cube face, as is the square face on the right upper side. The 4 other visible faces belong to the otahedron (that is dominant in this crystal).

It appears to me that you have a cube-octahedron of betafite (lower) attached to a flattened, hexagonal crystal of apatite (upper), a common association at the Silver Crater Mine. That is what I seem to see.

Mind you, it would be nice to see the other side or examine it up close since, from this image, it is sort of possible to see a very distorted cube-octahedron on top, as well.

probably a quite innocent mistake:

cube-octahedron = hexaedron + octahedron

but not hexoctahedron

and yes, the flat crystal is likely a distorted hexoct...sorry cube-octahedron!
