Every time I log on, my home page display says "You have new private messages". But there are no new messages in my inbox. Anyone else have this problem?

Not since the 1980's anymore. I have some of these relic messages as well even though there is nothing in my inbox as new.

This predates the recent purge of a particular individual. I have had the issue for over a year and when mentioned, got no response. I show 2 messages one of which is new but there are none.

I've tried to find out how to resolve this, but so far to no avail. I will keep looking.

When you deleted the PM's, that was just half of the job. The messages are related to the sender and receiver in the phorum_pm_xref table. Records related to the messages in this table also have to be deleted.

SELECT *

FROM phorum_pm_xref

LEFT JOIN

phorum_pm_messages

ON phorum_pm_messages.pm_message_id = phorum_pm_xref.pm_message_id

WHERE phorum_pm_messages.pm_message_id IS NULL

This finds the xref entries that do not have a corresponding message (approximately 250 records).

I know. I didn't see an easy way to prune these. I will have to write a script to do it when I get a free moment (maybe sunday)
