GeneralCobalt and Madoc pigments

A friend of ours has announced an art opening in Elora, Canada - see the link above - the work is special for many reasons, not the least of which is that he makes his own pigments from local rocks and minerals. Reiner and I have gone collecting with him to many localities including here in Paris for gypsum to create the gesso for the canvass as well as to Cobalt for the annabergite and Madoc for pigment found on the dumps at El Dorado.

Reiner was collecting up around Cobalt this past weekend and found this huge mass of clay-like annabergite - a surprise for Chris! more photos in the link above

That is a big mass of annabergite. Cobalt always has got some interesting stuff. That is one area i really want to plan a trip for. Its a hell of a drive thought.
