A small tin mine, started around 1790 when some miners sunk a shaft on the back of a lode on top of Trendrine Hill. The lode was productive at shallow depth, but the ground was unstable, and they soon moved to the eastern slope where they drove a shallow level and sunk a new shaft on it. They also commenced a deep level 40 fms below the older workings. In 1831, the mine was sold to James Meacock, who commenced working at the deep level, which he drove 60 fms further in. While sinking another shaft, he ran out of money and the mine was abandoned in the same year. In 1836, it was sold again, but abandoned soon after when the new owner died. In 1844, shares in "The United Mines of Wheal Music and Wheal Sandwich, now known by the name of Trendrine Hill" were offered for sale, but it is not known whether any of the two mines was subsequently reworked.
