A Au-Ag occurrence located in the W½ sec. 2, T12S, R20E, SBM, 2.6 km (1.6 miles) NE of Buzzards Peak (coordinates of record) and 7.9 km (4.9 miles) NNW of Quartz Peak, in Gold Basin (basin). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
The ore body strikes NE and dips 60-70SE. The veins occur near a contact with a silicic rhyolite dike underlying most of the hill. Fractures in the rhyolite contain blue Cu-oxide. Local rocks include Precambrian rocks, undivided, unit 2 (Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or Tertiary volcanic flow rocks, unit 15 (Southern Mojave Desert).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 100 foot vertical shaft and a crosscut adit driven 100 feet S from NW of the shaft.
