Coughlin prospect (Coughlin ledge), Washington Camp-Duquesne District, Patagonia District, Patagonia Mts, Santa Cruz Co., Arizona, USA
A prospect that lies SW of the Pride of the West Mine, principally between that mine and the Duquesne Gulch.Mineralization involves a 30 foot wide zone of dense flinty, cherty mineral-bearing quartzite or silicated garnetiferous limestone. It dips steeply to the NW, and a quartz monzonite dike forms the footwall and limestone the hanging wall, the conditions being just the reverse of those in the Pride of the West Mine. The dike seems to be the Pride of the West dike, or at least connected with it.
