Ancient mining site, discovered in 1973. Of the copper mines that have been excavated in China, this site is undoubtedly the largest and oldest one, with the longest period of activity. There are more than 400,000 tons of ancient slags, covering an area of about 2,000 square meters. So far, archaeological excavations have unearthed hundreds of various shafts and drifts in different structures and dozens of copper furnaces dating back to the West Zhou to Han dynasties (11th century BC to 2nd century AD) and the early Spring and Autumn periods (prior to 6th century BC).
Located about 15 km WSW of Daye.
