A Cu-Zn-Ag occurrence/claim/prospect located in sec. 2, T10N, R18E, MDM, 1.1 km (3,500 feet) ENE of Stevens Peak (5 miles from the junction of Luther Pass & Carson Pass), on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Local geology in the Stevens Peak area includes a mass of red trachyte containing hornblende, orthoclase and plagioclase. The lower half of the peak on the E side is gray granite. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or Mesozoic gabbroic rocks, unit 2 (undivided).
No production was reported. The claim was only slightly prospected.
