A Cr occurrence/group of claims located in the NE¼SW¼ sec. 25, T13N, R10E, MDM, about 4.65 km SSW of Volcanoville (about 3 miles NE of Georgetown), on the southern portion of the eastern slope of Little Bald Mountain (located claim). Property consists of 2 claims. Operated by the Georgetown Lumber Company. Operated during the period 1941 to 1943 by R.N. Knudson. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains) and/or Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface openings.
51 long tons of chromite were shipped in the 1941-1943 period. Deeper mining may locate other pods but probable reserves are small.
