A Mn occurrence/prospect located in T18S, R38E, MDM, 8.6 km m(5.3 miles) NNE of Sugar Loaf (coordinates of record) and 9.2 km (5.7 miles) SW of Malpais Mesa (coordinates of record) (Inyo Range), at the extreme northern end of the Coso Range, on Bureau of Land Management wilderness land (Cosa Range Wilderness). Discovered in 1918. Owned by Chris Runge, California (1974). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 5,000 meters.
Local rocks include Tertiary volcanic flow rocks, unit 16 (Northern Mojave Desert) and/or Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.
Production data: 6 tons mined but too low-grade to ship.
