A former lode Au prospect/mine located in the NW¼SE¼ (estimated) sec. 6, T9S, R22E, MDM, 2.8 km (9,300 feet) NNE of Kelshaw Corners, along Coarse Gold Creek. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein depopsit with a 2 to 6 foot thick vein, hosted in granite. The ore body is 1.83 meters thick. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of 3 shafts 50 to 100 feet deep with drifts at bottom to 290 feet at the longest.
Arrastras & nearby mill treated ore reportedly to have yielded $23/ton of Au (period values).
