A former lode Au mine located in secs. 22, 23, 26 & 27, T4S, R18E, MDM, 0.8 km (2,800 feet) NE of Colorado, on private (patented) land. Property consists of 57 patented acres. Operated by Catherine Aden C/O Dorman R. Mangels. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. USGS quadrangle Feliciana Mountain, California (1948) shows 2 shafts in the S½NE¼ of sec. 22, which may, or may not, be a part of this group.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in Late Permian metasedimentary rock and metavolcanic rock (Calaveras Group). Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 190.5 meters and an overall depth of 32 meters. They consisted of a 300 foot crosscut, 180 feet of drifts and 2 shafts of 105 and 40 feet deep, respectively, in 1916.
