A former lode Au-Ag mine located in the E½E½ (estimated) sec. 20, T4S, R18E, MDM, 0.5 km (1,700 feet) NW of Bear Valley, along Bear Creek. Operated by Charles M. Schroeder. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is a vein deposit with 2 veins (4 to 18 inches [10 to 45 cm] and 2 inches to 2 feet [5 cm to 0.61 meter] thick, hosted in greenstone. The ore body forms pockets, strikes N and dips 30E at at a thickness of 0.46 meters. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include unspecified underground openings.

Production data are found in: Bowen, O.E., Jr. & C.H. Gray, Jr. (1957).

Pockets produced $200/day (period values) in 1928 from ore crushed in a hand mortar.

Production statistics: Year 1938: Period: 1924 - 1938: ^233.95 ounces (6,606 grams) Au/ton; 34 ounces (960 grams) Ag/ton.
