A Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 1, T15N, R10E, MDM, 1.2 km (0.7 mile) S of Towle and 1.8 km (1.1 miles) E of Alta. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. This may be the locality referred by Clark (1970a) simply as "Canyon."
Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
