A reported placer Au occurrence located in sec. 32, T16N, R11E, MDM, 0.8 km (0.5 mile) SE of Baxter and 0.9 km (0.6 mile) NNE of Casa Loma, E of Canyon Creek and Interstate highway 80. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
NOTE: The USGS MRDS database file presents T&R values of sec. 16, T6N, R11E, MDM. These are in error. The coordinates place this locality in sec. 32, T16N, R11E, MDM. T6N is not in Placer County, but rather far to the S.
Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
