A former Cr occurrence/mine located in sec. 25, T16N, R10E, MDM, 2.2 km (1.4 miles) N of Alta, on the NW slope of Spaulding Point, E of the Bear River, on private land within a National Forest area. Owned by J.R. Hodges (1918). Operated by R. E. Linder and J. R. Hodges (1918). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

The ore body is lenticular in form. The deposit occurs at the northern end of the easternmost of 3 sub-parallel belts of ultramafic rocks that trend northward across the county. Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).

Workings include underground openings comprised of a 30 foot long adit, a 10 foot raise and a ditch.

Production data are found in: Rynearson, Garn Arthur (1953).

Approximately 40 long tons of ore were shipped in 1917 or 1918 & may have come from the Uvarovite claim (M100378).

Analytical data results: The ore contained 35% Cr2O3
