A former Au occurrence/mine located in the NE¼NE¼NE¼ sec. 2, T6N, R4W, SBM, 1.1 km (0.7 mile) SE of Silver Mountain (coordinates of record) and 4.5 km (2.8 miles) NE of Quartzite Mountain (coordinates of record), on a small hill just E of Silver Mountain, on private land. The property is comprised of 7 claims. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. Last active during the period 1948-1949.

Mineralization is hosted in Late Triassic metavolcanic rock. The ore body strikes E and dips S at a thickness of 0.61 meter. There are 2 veins at 4 to 24 inches (10 to 60 cm) thick. Wright (1953) indicates that the host rock is the Sidewinder andesite. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 3 (Mojave Desert, Death Valley area, and Eastern Sierra Nevada).

Workings include surface and underground openings with an overall depth of 137.16 meters and comprised of am 80 foot incline and 100 foot cut on the N vein plus an incline and cuts on the S vein. A 350 foot crosscut connects the workings on both veins at a depth of 450 feet.

Production data are found in: Bowen, O.E., Jr. (1954).

A small amount of Au ore was produced in 1910.
