A former Cr occurrence/mine located in sec. 11, T21S, R27E, MDM, 4.8 km (3.0 miles) SE of Strathmore and 5.5 km (3.4 miles) N of Porterville, on the Lewis Hill group, on private land. First produced in 1915; last produiced in 1916. Owned by Mrs. J.H. James (1916); operated by R.O. Adams (1916). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

The deposit is located in a NW-trending, irregularly exposed, belt of highly sheared serpentine which is 5-6 km wide and approximately 40 km long. The belt is bordered by pre-Cretaceous metavolcanic and metasedimentary rocks, Pleistocene alluvium and Mesozoic granodiorite intrusives. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).

Deposit was mined out by 1916.
