A former Cr occurrence/mine located in secs. 25 & 36, T1N, R13E, MDM, 0.8 km (2,500 feet) E of Peoria Flat (coordinates of record), on private land. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated. Exact location unknown, but is thought to be a caved shaft a short distance below the Sullivan and Kahl lease.
The ore body is irregular. The deposit occurs in the northern part of the westernmost of 2 serpentine belts which trend NW-SE across the county. The belt is exposed over an area 30 km by 6 km. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).
Workings include unspecified underground openings.
Assay analyses results: 1945: period = WWI: ^42% Cr2O3.
